Wow, what a great last general meeting. A special thanks to Lance for setting up a great hands on night. Thanks to Alan, Mike, Adam, George, Brian and Guthrie for being lathe captains. Great job everyone.
Thanks to Bill for manning the first sales table, for the whole night. Thanks to Ted for bring in items left from the club summer Barbeque. The table helps members in selling their items, and generating a few buck for the club as well.
The lathes will be running from 6:30 to 7 PM . and you will have to come and see who and what’s being made. Thanks to Murray for running a lathe last meeting.
Don’t forget the new table called Problem Corner where members can hopefully get help with pieces they want help with, in finishing, best way to cut, etc
Ed Pretty has agreed to do a hands on day on colours at his place in Langley. So if you are interested in signing up for this great offer bring $125.00 and see Gloria for signing up. Ed will expand on what is all included. (we might have to ask for more days ) Dates tba.
This Thursdays demonstration will be Murray Sluys making a natural edge pedestal dish. If you saw the piece he brought in last meeting you will not want to miss this Thursdays demo.
The wood raffle was the best ever. This Thursday there will be some exotic pieces, added compliments of some of our sponsors, be ready to buy raffle tickets.
Bring some of your work for the member’s instant gallery. We all love to see others work.
The president’s challenge is Platters Remember there will be gift certificated for both .
If your name begins with T,U,V,W bring in a nice piece of wood or two. No splits or firewood please. If your name begins with I,J,K,L its your turn to bring in goodies.
Just a note: Gloria did a break down for us. Total members by alphabetical order.
By using the A,B,C,D then E,F,G,H method it does not work. Some meetings have 12 members bring food then 3 members next meeting. Same applies to the wood raffle.
We will be switching to a by name method to equal the numbers out better. Watch for the web page changes as we implement this change after Nov Meeting. Sorry if your name comes up again as we make the changes. It should work out that your name only comes up maximum twice a year.
Also message to the new members, if you do not have a wood pile yet, ( oh but you will ). You can bring something to add to the food table instead.
There is a donation container at the food table, please donate so Brian can keep us in drinks, glasses, napkins etc.
We also need some Members to help volunteer to help Allan with the camera/ video equipment, and with the sales of raffle tickets. So if you have the willingness to help please come and see me at the start of the meeting.
