It is recognized the Fraser Valley Woodturners Guild is affiliated with American Association of Woodturners (AAW) as an AAW Chapter and that the purpose of this affiliation is to encourage the members of the Guild to involve themselves in the demographic of woodturners throughout North America and the world. It is also understood that as a Chapter, the Guild is eligible for all opportunities provided by the AAW including grants and subsidies related the advancement of the Guild members’ woodturning skills. To avail themselves of these same opportunities at an individual level, Guild members are encouraged to become members of the AAW.
As a Chapter of the AAW, the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer are required to be members in good standing of the American Association of Woodturners.
To that end, the Guild will purchase an annual on-line membership in the name of each of the above positions with the membership to be transferred to subsequent position holders. Each director may upgrade the membership at their own expense during their term.
While it is understood that the AAW will provide advice and counsel, as requested, the nature and extent of the society’s activities are left to the discretion of the Guild.
