Bow River Woods is proud to host a wood-turning demo with well known wood-turner Tom Wirsing!

In this demo, Tom Wirsing will demonstrate how he removes wood with gouges and fine tunes shapes and surfaces with negative rake scrapers. The evening will start off with a short slide show presentation describing Mr. Wirsing’s turning process and choice of tools. He will then turn a bowl/platter showing you each step and what tools to use.
Tom Wirsing served six years on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Woodturners (AAW), and served two terms as president of the AAW. He also served two terms as president of the Front Range Woodturners in Denver, Colorado, and as program director for both the Front Range Woodturners and the Rocky Mountain Woodturners in Loveland, Colorado.
Tom has been a demonstrator at the AAW Symposium, Turnfest in Australia, the Utah Woodturning Symposium, the Rocky Mountain Woodturning Symposium, and numerous other AAW events. He also teaches woodturning in his studio in Boulder County, Colorado.
All ages are welcome. We will also provide coffee and snacks.
