A Tale of Texturing with Gary Burns

A note from Gary Burns:

After spending a day with Michael Mocho, watching him use a Sorby texturing tool, a few of us tried without success. The obvious point was the tool is capable, the operator is not. So I asked my wife to buy one for me (Birthday present) .
Hours and hours trying all the different wheels, getting frustrated but kept saying, the tool can do it! Keep at it, so I did.
So much to learn but started getting the hang of it.

This piece has a textured band outside (two different wheels).

It has a large flower pattern on the inside bottom grain, with burn lines inside the bowl as well as outside and around the flower pattern.

The bottom also has a smaller flower pattern and burn lines defining the pattern.

This has been a fun challenge and thanks to Michael Mocho for sharing his talents and getting my interested in another challenge!
