FVWG Notice of AGM 2021

Official Notice of the Fraser Valley Woodturners Guild Annual General Meeting to be held Thursday, May 13, 2021  at 7:00 pm on Zoom

The Guild executive members  are  elected for two year terms, being able to serve two terms and then they must step down at the annual meeting in May. The Guild Vice president, Derek Bird, has completed his second two year term and will be  stepping down. The Guild treasurer, Michael Hamilton-Clark has also has also completed his 2nd two year term and will be stepping down. The Guild also has 2 Members at Large, Tom Wilson and Gary Kelly, who will be completing their 1st two year term and have indicated they are willing to run again for a 2nd year term. Tom Wilson has further advised he is willing to stand for election as Vice President. If Tom Wilson is elected as Vice President, he will have to step down as a Member at Large. Michael Hamilton-Clark has advised he is willing to stand for election as a Member at Large, so he can continue to act as registrar.

The above would give us a full executive except for the position of Treasurer which would have to be filled.

Any of our members can run for election to the position of Treasurer and Michael Hamilton-Clark will to assist in the transition.

Notice of the 2021 Annual General Meeting   of the Fraser Valley Woodturners Guild

Dear Members,

Due to the unusual circumstances of Covid-19, and to ensure members’ health and safety, the Fraser Valley Woodturners Guild (FVWG) must follow provincial health guidelines and refrain from hosting in-person gatherings of more than 50 persons.

This has meant that the FVWG will now host the 2021 Annual General Meeting through a virtual video software called Zoom on:

Thursday, May 13, 2021
Sign-in from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm
Meeting from 7:00 pm until business is concluded

Order of Business and Agenda

1. Elect an individual to chair the meeting and ensure that a quorum is present, this being at least 10% of the current voting membership.
2. Approve the Agenda being:
2.1 Approve the Minutes of the 2020 AGM. 
2.2 Receive the Treasurer’s report for the previous financial year. 
2.3 Elect a new Vice-President, Treasurer and twoMembers at Large.
2.4 Any other business that may properly be brought before the meeting.
2.5 Terminate the meeting.

The link for joining the Zoom meeting will be advised to all members by an email to be sent out on the afternoon ofWednesday, May 12, 2021 along with a copy of the Minutes of the last AGM and the Treasurer’s report for the previous year.
