In the demonstration, Top Ten Tips for Transformative Turning:  Focusing on the Whys, Sheila hopes to share a wide variety of information with those who want to enrich their own woodturning experiences​.  This presentation will be sowing seeds and encouraging fellow travelers to embrace the journey from beginner to master, with each tip pointing the way to opportunities for further exploration and transformation.

Sheila Balzer – Woodturner & Maker Bio

In woodturning, as in many crafts, the flood of information and ideas that present themselves as the novice seeks greater mastery can be overwhelming.  But it is through the work of trying to comprehend and connect these many threads that we develop our own unique style and voice.  With curiosity, persistence and resilience, this process becomes fun rather than frustrating.

Sheila Balzer is an enthusiastic lifelong learner in everything she does.  Coaching, music, and making have been integral to her life as a student, consultant, parent, volunteer, teacher, and aspiring artist.  Since 2020 a passion for woodturning has allowed her to unite many of her artistic endeavours.
