All Day Demo with Doug Fisher at Bow River Woods facility. Registration is $25. Lunch is provided by Bow River Woods. Advance registration qualifies you for a draw on a bowl blank and allows us to plan lunch and setup for the event. You can register at the April 7th FVWG meeting.
In this one-day demonstration you will see how Douglas turns an off center off axis double-sided sculpture using a vacuum chuck so that he can design on both sides.
You will learn how to turn a two-sided sculpture as well as all the methods Douglas uses to achieve the look of his pieces. This will include applying the design, rotary carving, burning, and colouring. There will also be two short slide presentations, which will touch on design, form and inspiration. Of course, you can apply these methods to your own work even if you don’t have the convenience of a vacuum chuck.
