Burls for Sale: a note from Stefan.
Hi there… I am a wood salvager from Salt Spring Island, BC. I mostly mill live edge lumber, but recently I’ve come into a large amount of fantastic BigLeaf maple burl. Im not sure what to do with it as none of my clients are woodturners. I’ve included some pics, and will add a couple photos in a second email.
The burl itself was around 5 feet in diameter, solid as a nut save for some small bark inclusions. I have sawn it into large chunks, several in the 300-400 pound range. However, I am able to cut smaller pieces on request, blocks or caps of any size.
There is some absolutely incredible lace and flame in these pieces.
My prices are very affordable (lets not call me cheap:) as my business revolves around selling at wholesale directly to professional woodworkers.
I also have access to a large stash of dry yellow cedar burl, much of it birdseye…
