7:10 Feature: Gary Burns is going to demo using an electric and gas chainsaw to make bowl blanks from green wood. This includes how to get the best grain pattern from the piece, how to secure the wood when you are cutting it, safety, sharpening and much more.
8:45 Juice, Tea and Snacks at the break. And buy wood raffle tickets. Goodies supplied this month by Mike O’Leary, Bill Olsen, Ross Paterson, Beverley Pears, Bill Peetoom and Roger Pitts. Don will have some Magazines and DVD’s for rental from the club Library.
And the ”Problem Corner” Advice from the veterans. Bring something you are working on or something you want comment on form & design. Bring in problem pieces, unknown species, wood pieces that you don’t know what to do with.
9:00 Presidents Challenge is a 12 inch 2×2 turned full of beads and coves.
9:15 Members Gallery: Commentary. Bring completed work you want to show, tell how, take questions, and discuss.
9:30 Wood or Tool Raffle donations: Bring wood blanks or a roughed out bowl blank. Bring something you would use yourself. This month, Peter Durand, Gary Emmerson, Mike Gale, George Geurts, Bill Girvan, and Peter Goumans will each be bringing some good wood!
